Who We Are

The Friends of The Stoughton Public Library was established in 1984 as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, in Stoughton, Wisconsin. We’re a group of dedicated members with a volunteer Board of Directors. We have a fondness for books, libraries, and reading. We raise thousands of dollars annually for the Library through fun events such as Pie Place, Mini Golf in the Library, the fall raffle, used book sales, special events and the Book Nook. The Friends 2025 contribution to the library was $25,000 general purpose, and $3,750 to Caregiver Connection and the summer reading kickoff event. In 2024, our contribution to the library was $20,785 which included $20,000 in fundraising efforts and $785 in donations from the In Honor/In Memory donations.

Book Nook

Visit the Book Nook on the library’s mezzanine floor. The Friends offer gently used books, DVDs, CDs and audio books for sale.

A variety of subjects include fiction, nonfiction, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, art, cookbooks, gardening, western, romance and teen. For children, we have board and picture books, beginning readers and chapter books. Shelves are updated frequently and proceeds help support the library.
